While activities may vary somewhat
between the two campuses, Glenwood School offers a variety
of extracurricular activities, which allow students to interact
with peers in a structured and safe environment. They include
intramural sports such as baseball and basketball; planned
trips to movies, musicals and plays; clubs including Boy Scouts,
yearbook, computer, math, science; craft classes, wood shop
and Drill Team, to name a few. These activities develop many
of the social skills and the hidden personality traits and
abilities that come from working and playing with others.
Students learn to lead, to organize and plan activities, plus
the art of compromise, teamwork, goal setting and problem
solving, tools they can also use in their classroom and residence
hall settings.
